What is Internet based Community broadcasting?
Internet-based community broadcasting, also known as online radio, is a way for community radio to be broadcast over the internet, allowing anyone with internet access to tune in. This is different from traditional broadcasting, where community members must be present at a specific location to participate in programming.
UK Regulations for Internet Radio:
A more straightforward way of setting up a radio service is to start an internet/intranet radio station. We do not regulate online-only radio services, and so these stations do not require a licence from Ofcom.
Music Royalties:
However, to play any music on an online station, you will need the relevant licences from the music royalty collection agencies, PPL and PRS for Music. These organisations operate separately from Ofcom.
Income Streams:
In order to make the project sustainable within 3 years we hope to create the following income streams;
    1. Advertising,
    2. Sponsorship,
    3. Adverts & Jingles,
    4. Merchandising,
