🎙️"Roll up your sleeves & get stuck in"

In our latest episode Our very own Stephanie McNicholas in conversation with fellow creative Dave Edwards. Compiled & written by Andy Phillips

Roving reporter Dave Edwards Once his mothers little pride & joy grew up in Nantymoel. Dave is reputed to have tried 32 Jobs without success before settling as a reporter. Over the years Dave has worked on various publications such as Rhondda Leader & Pontypridd Observer.

Amongst the myriad of things they discussed Dave announced that back in the day "You could walk into any pub in the Rhondda and come away with a fistful of stories"

Now enjoying his retirement Dave is a regular member of Pontypridd Men`s Shed where he is affectionately known as `Scoop`. Today he still keeps his quill well dipped in the dark ink. creating articles for "Ponty Pages" under the pseudonym `The Rhondda Lip`.

Dave also enjoys compiling a regular weekly quiz whilst his 3rd wife Stella loves to bake delicious corned beef pies.

Another of Dave`s bright ideas was his contribution was to come up with the very apt name for our warm hub.

🎙️Shed & Breakfast:

It is a social activity that occurs every Monday in Taff Meadow Community centre Treforest. A warm hub during winter months (December / March). It is a place where free food & drink are offered along with various games, quizzes, digital devices, WIFI etc.

Where everyone is encouraged to make new friends, & learn new skills. Pontypridd Men`s Shed provides a safe space in order to facilitate conversation where people feel at ease to chat! openly about their worries & concerns. Everything is Free! although donations are always freely accepted & is open to everyone to attend.

Dave is also an avid participant within the Creative Design Studio, Trallwng. Where we produce regular community Podcast production:
